Beware of property frauds
There are greater chances of someone claiming ownership of your property, if you do not live in that property. There are simpler ways of safeguarding yourself from property frauds.
Registering with the Land Registry of your town or city is the right way to protect your property from getting stolen. Ensure that you give all the requisite details like contact details and details of other documents, so that you are not trapped.
Property fraudsters pretend to be the owners of the property and fake documents by convincing the Land Registry to transfer the title deed and other ownership rights. The next step is they take a mortgage loan against that property and flee with the money. Properties which are normally targeted are those ones where the property owner is absent for quite some time. Properties where the landlord has entrusted the land to a trust also are targeted by fraudsters.
Hence, property owners need to be doubly careful especially when they are not staying in that properties by purchasing buy to let landlord insurance. Buy to let landlord insurance is a security cover for the landlord and he can rest in peace transferring all his worries to the insurance provider.
