Buildings and contents insurance

Buildings and contents insurance provide coverage for structure of the building as well as personal belongings lying in the property. When we talk of house contents insurance, it is generally a part of house or Home Insurance. If required, you may also purchase it separately.
We can never predict unforeseen events and calamities in our life. This may pose a threat to the personal belongings lying in our home. They include furniture, household appliances and so on. Valuable items and expensive goods will have to be separately insured. It is essential to insure these separately as in the event of a fire, flood, storm or any disaster, there will be grave losses. This calls for lot of money. We are not talking about only one or two things. In our house, there are so many things and hence it is imperative that everything is adequately covered. One needs to be well prepared irrespective of the situation or the circumstance and ensure that contents of the building are adequately covered.
For a landlord, this insurance cover is not legally mandatory like home insurance or House Insurance. But purchasing it is a safe and good idea.
