Home emergency insurance protection during critical times

Home emergency insurance covers all those critical situations when your house is burgled or a financial tragedy occurs.

If you are faced with such an emergency situation, you first need to report the matter to the police. Make sure you follow the dos and don’ts carefully, so that you are able to claim home emergency insurance compensation.

Do not touch anything or try to clear up the mess. You might end up destroying valuable evidence. Check out for items which are missing and make note of the same. Immediately report the matter to your bank if your credit card has been stolen. Contact your home emergency insurance provider so that they can make a report and the future course of action can be taken. Check out with an expert Home Insurance provider like Castle Cover if repairs to locks are also covered under the policy.

There are several preventative measures which one can take to prevent a burglary or theft. Installation of burglar alarms would make your home insurance affordable. Ensure that your windows and doors are locked and never leave keys on windowsills or hanging on locks. Ensure that you have a record of the serial number of your computer, television sets, CD or DVD player and so on, as it could help you in getting compensation from the insurance provider. Proof of value and ownership of the items stolen is a requisite as it helps in settling your claim faster.
