Julia's House, Dorset's only hospice dedicated to children with life-limiting conditions, was chosen as the company's 2012 Employee Charity of the Year and colleagues have enthusiastically raised money all year through a variety of challenges.
Adventurous fundraising efforts have included taking part and winning the Dorset Plane Pull, 16 colleagues setting some personal bests in the Hospice 10k Run, as well as a variety of less strenuous, but delicious cake baking sales throughout the year!
With donations to charities having fallen by 20%1 on average across the UK, this fundraising achievement is even more credible. The money donated will help Julia's House continue to maximise and enrich the life quality of Dorset-based children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
Caroline Gogan, Corporate Fundraiser at Julia's House said: "Thank you to everyone at Castle Cover in Bournemouth for supporting Julia's House throughout 2012. The employees demonstrated endless enthusiasm and we are extremely grateful for their efforts. Through their commitment to support Julia's House, they have helped buy the gift of time for local families caring for life-limited children – time for families to spend with their other children, their partners, or simply just time to do those everyday tasks that the rest of us take for granted".
Commenting on the achievement, Peter Corfield, Managing Director at Castle Cover said: "I am extremely proud of all the hard work and time that colleagues have generously put into fundraising this year. Supporting local charities has always been at the heart of our business and our employees have been 100% committed to hitting the £20,000 charity target – a great achievement and credit to everyone in our Bournemouth office."
