Castle Cover extend sponsorship

PIRATES are claiming a new two-year main team sponsorship package with Castle Cover is "quite easily the biggest deal in British speedway".
The Dorset club have tied up a lucrative package with the Poole-based insurance company worth "in excess of six figures over two years".
Pirates chief Matt Ford said: "It's fantastic news because it gives stability to the club.
"There are also extra financial incentives to win the Elite League and on how many times we appear on Sky TV, which would give the club a chance to go into the transfer market at the end of the season.
"Castle Cover are coming on board again for two years with an option for a third.
"So this deal takes us up to the end of 2009, and we could maybe take it into 2010.
"Andrew Marchington, Castle Cover's managing director, has been a dream to work with, along with his colleagues Andrew Cole and Andrew Bray.
"We look forward to extending what has been a very prosperous sponsorship for both the club and Castle Cover over the past 12 months into the next two years and beyond."
Marchington said: "Castle Cover was the fastest growing UK home insurer in 2007 based on independent ratings and there is no doubt speedway has helped us get to that position.
"It has given us national coverage with the brand and also people who tend to follow speedway are quite happy supporting the companies that support speedway.
"Our association with Poole Pirates has been helpful locally because in the last 18 months it has helped us recruitment-wise in building up a company with 200 employees.
"It helps put us on the map locally and we have another 100 people to recruit this year.
"Our connection with Poole Pirates helps people's awareness of us and lets them know our aspirations as a company.
"We wanted to tie some stability up both for Castle Cover and Poole speedway and have achieved that, which is very helpful to both companies and their promotional work."
