Castle Cover's big plans
22nd February 2007
Poole based insurance company Castle Cover has got off to a remarkable start in 2007 having recruited a new member of staff every day so far.
"The plan is to sign up over half a million customers within a five-year period". That's the bold statement from Andrew Marchington, Managing Director of Poole-based over fifties insurance specialists, Castle Cover.
Launched in the summer of 2006, the new fifty-plus insurers already have well over one hundred staff members on their books and have made a significant impact on the general insurance market.
"Our plans for the future will see us becoming one of Poole's leading employers over the next few years. We've already reached the enviable position of having to recruit more sales advisers and move into extra offices at our headquarters in Merck House, ahead of schedule to cope with demand" said Mr Marchington.
Castle Cover is a solely independent insurance broker, dealing exclusively with the over fifties market. Their great advantage is that they are neither tied to one supplier nor owned by an insurer so can offer competitive premiums.
Marchington believes that the over 50s do not currently receive as good a deal on insurance as they deserve. "They tend to claim less frequently and do not exaggerate claims, unlike younger people. We use our expertise to negotiate lower premiums with our panel of household insurance names, including AXA, Legal & General and Royal & SunAlliance, as they regard the fifty plus market as lower risk".
Not only have Castle Cover made a major impact on the insurance market but they've also recently embarked on a significant tie-up with the Poole Speedway team, who will now be known as the 'Poole Castle Cover Pirates'. This headline sponsorship deal with one of Poole's longest standings sports will generate local and national exposure for the brand.
"Poole Speedway offers us the opportunity to support our local community, which is high on our list of priorities. We're a national brand company that happens to be based in Poole, so we're delighted to have been able to secure this deal as it's such a prestigious piece of sponsorship in the local area."
This year alone, Castle Cover aim to create a further one hundred jobs adding to their status as one of Poole's emerging key employers.
