Julia's House is king for castle

Over fifties insurance specialist Castle Cover has adopted Julia's House as its official charity for the coming twelve months.

All funds raised throughout the year by the newly launched insurance specialist will go towards the children's hospice, based in Broadstone, which cares for life-limited and life-threatened children throughout Dorset - the majority of whom are not expected to live into adulthood.

Putting down roots in the local community is something seen as a priority for Castle Cover and the adoption of a local charity was high on the agenda.

"We are committed to the area we live and work in and also to its community," said Castle Cover PR Manager Hayley Baverstock, "We have an enthusiastic team of people who are keen to raise funds for such a worthwhile organisation as Julia's House. It's a real home from home that children can go to and have a wonderful time."

Julia's House Deputy Chief Executive, Gavin Fisher, said of the tie-up with Castle Cover, "It's great to have a local company give us their full support and to have one such as Castle Cover, who evidently have big plans for the future, is something we're extremely grateful for. We're all looking forward to working together and seeing how we can further develop Julia's House".

"One area where we're concentrating our efforts at the moment is the funding for 24-hour nursing so that we can offer overnight stays to our children. This will give parents and families a much-needed break and give them the opportunity to spend time with their other children."

Poole-based Castle Cover holds dress-down Fridays once a month for all staff and proceeds will be handed over to Julia's House immediately afterwards. A forum will also be launched where staff can make suggestions as to other fundraising events to hold throughout the year. They will also be looking to utilise their headline sponsorship of the Poole Pirates speedway team to help boost funds for Julia's House.
